Friday, April 30, 2010 Dear Christian parents, According to the Dress Code Policy students are permitted to wear shorts to school beginning on Monday, May 3rd. Students do not have to wear shorts if it is cool, but they are able to wear them at school. The following paragraphs are found in our dress code policy which is in your School Directory. Students are allowed to wear finished shorts to school from May 1st until September 30th. Only shorts similar in style to dress pants or jeans are acceptable. Athletic style shorts (soccer, tennis, etc.), sweat shorts, spandex, lycra, nylon, etc. may not be worn. Short length should be no shorter than the length of the fingertips when the arms are extended at the sides. All clothing should be appealing rather than revealing. The following items are not acceptable: skin-tight clothing, sleeveless tops and dresses, any tops exposing the midriff, any underclothing or inappropriate clothing that is visible. Dress/skirt length should be no shorter than the length of the fingertip when the arms are extended down at the sides. This length includes skirts worn with leggings. Skorts are acceptable throughout the year, but must meet the length requirement for skirts. We thank you parents for taking notice and reminding your child/children what is acceptable and not acceptable. As long as we are talking about the Dress Code, I would remind parents that the dress code does apply for Graduation dresses as well. Short, short dresses are not acceptable and tops that are to revealing are not acceptable. Thank you for your support and the parenting role that you play in following the dress code that stresses Christian character. In His service, Duane S. Graf |
