I grew up in West Branch, a very small town in Iowa. This town is close to Iowa City so I attended the University of Iowa (Go Hawkeyes!) and graduated from there with a B.A. in Elementary Education with an area of specialization in Reading. When my husband got a job with Wisconsin Electric, I began teaching at St. Pauls. I received my Colloquy in 1991 from Concordia University in Mequon. I have taught 3rd and 4th grade combination classes and now teach 4th grade. I also help coach the 5-6th grade girls softball team in the fall and accompany the 7th grade class to Camp LuWiSoMo for a week of Outdoor Education. In my spare time I enjoy reading, running, golfing, and traveling. Fourth graders study many new topics and build on knowledge they have learned from the past years. In Math, we spend time on multiplication, division, Algebra, and fractions during the year. Our Science curriculum covers Physical Science, Earth Science, and Life Science topics. We study the history of Wisconsin one semester and the unit culminates with a trip to the Historical Museum in Madison. The other semester, the students study the five Regions of the United States. Our religion lessons focus on Jesus Christ and this is brought out in all of our subjects. Helping the students grow in faith and the knowledge of their Lord Jesus Christ is a priority in our classroom and at our school. |
