I was born and raised in West Bend, Wisconsin
and attended St. John's Lutheran School.
I later went on to high school at Milwaukee Lutheran and college at
Concordia Teacher's College in River Forest, Illinois. I received my first call to Trinity Lutheran
School in Mequon to be a first grade teacher.
During my years at Trinity, I met Duane and we were married in
1973. I accepted a call to be a first
grade teacher at Hales Corners Lutheran School where I also served as an
organist, girl's softball and volleyball coach. In 1979, our family was blessed with the gift of a son,
Nathan. I took a leave of absence from
teaching and served as an organist and music director for Risen Savior Lutheran
Church in Franklin and later Layton Park Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. During this time, I attended Cardinal
Stritch University and received an M.A. degree in reading. After a brief term as an adjunct professor
at Concordia University, I returned to the elementary classroom as a first
grade teacher at St. Paul's in West Allis.
In addition to teaching at St. Paul's, I am currently serving as an
accompanist to the Senior Choir and as a girl's softball coach. Being in teaching and music ministry has
filled my life with many joys. I have
been a witness to many "faith moments" in the lives of children and
adults in which I am able to see the Holy Spirit at work. I praise God for
working in my life and through my life, -blessing, loving and forgiving me
along the way. |
